I(HEART) MUSIC PROMOTIONS...Present:
I(HEART)..LIVE!...
KRAKATOA // BANGBANGBANG // CLIP STAMP FOLD // THE RIMES
Cult South London night, I (Heart), return to the legendary Proud
Camden with a rare line-up of alumni from some of Britain's biggest
indie bands
On Wednesday 1st September, Proud Camden's revamped stables will
host the exclusive showcase night of the most delightful
bands on the scene to date.
KRAKATOA......Finally, a rock 'n' roll band is here to reignite
today's music scene. The pissed off and bored generation are crying
out for a band that has got something to say, whose songs they can
relate to, a band to represent them. There hasn't been anyone with
such conviction since The Clash. It's time for someone to lead the
way into a new era. Enter Krakatoa.
Hailing from south east London, they have built up a devoted
following who sing along to every word with unbridled passion.
Influenced by all of the great music down the decades, Krakatoa's
sound is raw yet diverse. Reminiscent of The Beatles, The Kinks,
and The Clash, Krakatoa effortlessly shift moods, whilst still
maintaining their unique rock 'n' roll sound.
Having recently played a series of blistering London shows, and
various gigs around the UK, it's only a matter of time until they
hit the top.
This band demands to be heard!!
BANGBANGBANG.....
After hitting the Official UK Indie charts at number two with debut
single This Way / That Way, and finishing up support slots for
Blood Red Shoes, Crystal Castles and Operator Please,
female-fronted Garage / Punk / Trash / Pop outfit BangBangBang!
return with a new sound and a fresh assault on mainstream
music.
The sheer edge and attitude of their approach coupled with
mastery of captivating an audience through performance, cements
their position amongst their peers as not just relevant, but
exciting contenders for the title of "next big thing".
CLIP STAMP FOLD.....
Although they all met in the mid-2000s studying typography in
London, Clip Stamp Fold didn't fully take shape until february
2009.
They soon developed their own brand of invigorating Post-Punk
which is often described as being a cross pollination of Bloc
Party, Joy Division, Talking Heads and Maccabees. CSF consists of
Mark E, James Fayolle, Joel Foster and Sean Guiheen, all
exceptionally well brought up chaps, who in some cases are close
personal friends.
They enjoy a variety of musical styles and it shows in the
diversity of their repertoire. The band have recently been dealing
with their addictions, self-esteem issues and checking out
ex-girlfriends on facebook.
They have played venues around the capital such as White Light@
The Lexington, Death Disco, Barfly and will be supporting Ra Ra
Riot at White Heat in September.
THE RIMES......
The Rimes are; Jamie, Mike, Jack and Ryan, merging from
Wolverhampton, West Midlands.
The band formed in 2009 and with their crowd pleasing performances,
they gained recognition in their local area very quickly. They
decided at this point to start playing their music around the
country to help build a fanbase. Coming back to the Midlands in
April 2010, the four hard working lads increased their recognition
by selling out the O2 Academy 3, Birmingham. After this achievement
they were booked by promoters in London, Manchester and Nottingham
which took them back out of town for them then to return in July to
a number of plays and interviews on local radio stations and yet
another sell out show in their home town, Wolverhampton.
The Rimes have moved forward very quickly over the last 10 months
with their style changing from modern rock to rock-indie with a
60's twist and a feel good sound that you can jump around, sing
along to or even with some of the new material you get the urge to
dance. With this new infectious sound they are producing, you can
see why their fanbase is rapidly expanding.
The band are looking forward to finishing 2010 off with gigs in,
London, Manchester, Cardiff, Newcastle and Liverpool due to the
request of new fans.
To top off this rare line-up of live acts with floor-filling DJ
sets is the hugely entertaining I (Heart)..DJ's.
Following recently completed refurbishment, the Proud venue
itself is now even more fitting for I (Heart)'s new night.
Contrasting sharply to Proud's previous look, the South gallery,
main gig room, stables area and brand new terraced café have
undergone extreme renovation and redesign to dramatically change
the Proud Camden experience. With guests such as Amy Winehouse,
Jarvis Cocker and Mumford & Sons adorning the new venue earlier
this month, I (Heart)'s new night promises to add even more music
VIP names to the new Proud
Camden.
