Bandangos Presents...Underground Heroes + MADDOX + ROD HUGHES AND THE LOUD SHOE GANG19:30PM - 01:30AM

Club Bandangos is back after the AMAZING SUCCESS of the 5th birthday with London's own dirty rebels

    ''UNDERGROUND HEROES''

Dubbed by the NME as "The Ordinary Boys Gargling Glass" or "The Jam if they'd read the Razzle instead of books on politics", Underground Heroes are currently the most talked about thing to come out of Chatham in Kent since the word 'Chav'.

...Influenced by their heroes The Specials, The Jam and The Clash. They are the sound of booze-sodden, crap fag smoking, cheap drug taking, concrete Britain. Lyrically they are inspired by the day to day life they know - the fights, night life, friends, birds - and the identikit town they live in.

By the summer of 2006 the Underground Heroes branched out from Kent, supporting The View on a toilet tour in Scotland, playing the smaller summer UK festivals and doing their first international gig - Ibiza Rocks Festival. By November the band got together their own tour, playing club NME'S up and down the country. At about the same time,

To date they've released two limited edition singles. James Endeacott's label 1965 Records, released the bands first outing on wax, the ska tinged "Stella The Mistress" and the follow up, 'Alright Darlin'?', a slice of spiky power pop punk produced by Paul Epworth, was released on Loog Records last August. Both singles sold out within a few weeks and garnered support from the likes of NME, XFM, Zane Lowe, Colin Murray and John Kennedy.

Since then the boys have shared stages with the likes of The View, Kasabian, Towers of London, Little Man Tate, The Cribs, The Metros, The Holloways, Kate Nash and Lily Allen, as well as playing their first Glastonbury in summer 2007.

  • I (heart) music promotions presents....Krakatoa, Bangbangbang, Clip Stamp Fold, The Rimes, Custard Chuckers 19:30PM - 01:30AM

    I(HEART) MUSIC PROMOTIONS...Present:

    I(HEART)..LIVE!...
KRAKATOA // BANGBANGBANG // CLIP STAMP FOLD // THE RIMES

Cult South London night, I (Heart), return to the legendary Proud Camden with a rare line-up of alumni from some of Britain's biggest indie bands

On Wednesday 1st September, Proud Camden's revamped stables will host the exclusive showcase night of the most delightful  bands on the scene to date.

KRAKATOA......Finally, a rock 'n' roll band is here to reignite today's music scene. The pissed off and bored generation are crying out for a band that has got something to say, whose songs they can relate to, a band to represent them. There hasn't been anyone with such conviction since The Clash. It's time for someone to lead the way into a new era. Enter Krakatoa.

Hailing from south east London, they have built up a devoted following who sing along to every word with unbridled passion. Influenced by all of the great music down the decades, Krakatoa's sound is raw yet diverse. Reminiscent of The Beatles, The Kinks, and The Clash, Krakatoa effortlessly shift moods, whilst still maintaining their unique rock 'n' roll sound.

Having recently played a series of blistering London shows, and various gigs around the UK, it's only a matter of time until they hit the top.

This band demands to be heard!!

    BANGBANGBANG.....
After hitting the Official UK Indie charts at number two with debut single This Way / That Way, and finishing up support slots for Blood Red Shoes, Crystal Castles and Operator Please, female-fronted Garage / Punk / Trash / Pop outfit BangBangBang! return with a new sound and a fresh assault on mainstream music.

The sheer edge and attitude of their approach coupled with mastery of captivating an audience through performance, cements their position amongst their peers as not just relevant, but exciting contenders for the title of "next big thing".

    CLIP STAMP FOLD.....
Although they all met in the mid-2000s studying typography in London, Clip Stamp Fold didn't fully take shape until february 2009.

They soon developed their own brand of invigorating Post-Punk which is often described as being a cross pollination of Bloc Party, Joy Division, Talking Heads and Maccabees. CSF consists of Mark E, James Fayolle, Joel Foster and Sean Guiheen, all exceptionally well brought up chaps, who in some cases are close personal friends.

They enjoy a variety of musical styles and it shows in the diversity of their repertoire. The band have recently been dealing with their addictions, self-esteem issues and checking out ex-girlfriends on facebook.

They have played venues around the capital such as White Light@ The Lexington, Death Disco, Barfly and will be supporting Ra Ra Riot at White Heat in September.

    THE RIMES......
The Rimes are; Jamie, Mike, Jack and Ryan, merging from Wolverhampton, West Midlands.
The band formed in 2009 and with their crowd pleasing performances, they gained recognition in their local area very quickly. They decided at this point to start playing their music around the country to help build a fanbase. Coming back to the Midlands in April 2010, the four hard working lads increased their recognition by selling out the O2 Academy 3, Birmingham. After this achievement they were booked by promoters in London, Manchester and Nottingham which took them back out of town for them then to return in July to a number of plays and interviews on local radio stations and yet another sell out show in their home town, Wolverhampton.

The Rimes have moved forward very quickly over the last 10 months with their style changing from modern rock to rock-indie with a 60's twist and a feel good sound that you can jump around, sing along to or even with some of the new material you get the urge to dance. With this new infectious sound they are producing, you can see why their fanbase is rapidly expanding.

The band are looking forward to finishing 2010 off with gigs in, London, Manchester, Cardiff, Newcastle and Liverpool due to the request of new fans.

To top off this rare line-up of live acts with floor-filling DJ sets is the hugely entertaining I (Heart)..DJ's.

Following recently completed refurbishment, the Proud venue itself is now even more fitting for I (Heart)'s new night. Contrasting sharply to Proud's previous look, the South gallery, main gig room, stables area and brand new terraced café have undergone extreme renovation and redesign to dramatically change the Proud Camden experience. With guests such as Amy Winehouse, Jarvis Cocker and Mumford & Sons adorning the new venue earlier this month, I (Heart)'s new night promises to add even more music VIP names to the new Proud
    Camden.

    Thursday is the new Friday................
Club Remix is the most recent incarnation of Eddy Temple Morris's universally recognized brand, The Remix. Marking the 10th anniversary as XFM's flagship specialist music show and hugely successful superclub-night, Eddy decided to stage a weekly version at Camden's Proud Gallery to celebrate what has become one of the UK's most influential new music institutions. To this end Club Remix each week will feature the future of Indie and Electronica with three live acts performing before 11pm, whereupon Eddy and guests, comprising of some of hottest Dance DJs and producers around, will be doing their utmost to subvert 'the home of indie' with a hatful of leftfield beats and warehouse bangers until 2am.

To kick it all off on September 2nd, the bewitching and critically acclaimed Teenagersintokyo are Club Remix's first headliners. Their debut album Sacrifice (out now on Backyard Recordings) recorded with Bat for Lashes Producer David Kosten, has been described as the most exciting subterranean music of the past thirty years marrying sinister, crawling synths with pulsing rhythms and screaming guitars. They have supported the likes of CSS, The Gossip and The Slits, had their own sell UK tour, been played across the Radio1, XFM and NME airwaves and recently topped the Hype Machine Charts with a Horrors remix of one of their tracks 'Peter Pan'.

Club Remix is really pleased to announce its special guest DJ comes in the form of Jakwob. James Jacob aka 'Jakwob' has seen his nascent career take off in the last few months and is the most played artist on The Remix show in 2010. The 21 year old is in the curious position of having just finished his final year at university, while juggling a busy gig schedule, production work, daily remix requests, and being shot in September's iD magazine! He's remixed the likes of Ellie Goulding, Kid Sister, Robyn, Empire Of The Sun, Temper Trap, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Penguin Prison, Audio Bullies and Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip. However, it's his inherent eclecticism as an artist misspending his youth with Jazz before moving on to Death Metal and various folk outfits that seems to have manifest itself into his DJ sets that take in dub, hip hop, drum and bass, dubstep and beyond. Definitely not worth missing!

Since launching The Remix, Xfm's leading specialist radio show and club night ten years ago, Eddy Temple-Morris has become the undisputed champion not just of genre-hopping but of genre-breeding, slipping enough pills into dance music's pint until it finds itself curled up in the corner of the room with rock's dangly bits in its mouth. It was the first in the world to debut the work of acts such as Pendulum, Kasabian, Mylo, Paul Epworth, The Freelance Hellraiser and Jacknife Lee to name a few. His DJ skills are legendary as are his admirers: "The first DJ in our history to get the crowd jumping and singing along BEFORE we get onstage...and he wears a good hat" - Liam Howlett, The Prodigy "Legend." - Tom Meighan, Kasabian "The reason I'm in work here." - Zane Lowe, MTV "The best f**king DJ in London." - Javier E, Razzmatazz Super-Club, Barcelona. Nuff said!

    Future Club Remix Dates:
September 9th: Losers (Live), Night Bus (Live), Guest DJ Dumb Blonde (Anne Savage)

*All sets/interviews will also be recorded for broadcast courtesy of those nice people at Jagermeister!
*The Remix is broadcast every Friday on XFM between 10pm-2am.

Well that was quick. Faster than you can say gazebo, summer came and went. And as much as you try to flog that old Indian Summer theory, it's still colder than a penguin's chuff out there.

While July positively basked in glory, August was a deluge of misery as festivals flooded, staycations stagnated, picnics plodded and barbeques blubbed.
The scorchingly Hot Club De Paris are our headliners this week, with their blend of twitchy Punk, rococo guitar, lusty three-part Folk harmonies and witty, (occasionally foul-mouthed) lyrics.

Pull In Emergency are simply too hot to handle and a most worthy support act for the night, having been making joyous Indie Pop since they were in Year 8 (?!)
And the smoking Sam Hall aka Goldierocks - DJ, presenter and party planner du-jour - takes us into the twilight hours with her latest selection of floor-burners.
Come warm your cockles, and make the summer last a little longer.

Cutting edge live music and performance art collide in a 'carefree, carnival atmosphere' (Time Out - Feb '09)

    'NEW WEEZER ALBUM' PARTY!

    INNERCITY PIRATES live!
    LITTLE FISH live!
    GUITARS HAVE GHOSTS live!
    FICTION DJ set!

With only days to go before the release of the new WEEZER album 'Hurley' we'll be playing as much of it as we can get our hands on at our celebratory bash, which features up-and-coming legends GUITARS HAVE GHOSTS and LITTLE FISH and our bezza mates INNERCITY PIRATES playing live. Plus a DJ set from hotly tipped newcomers FICTION!

    Entry: £3 (£2 if you're wearing glasses)
    Proud Camden, South Gallery
    7.30pm-1am

Summer 2010 sees the launch of a brave new era in dancing, a new kind of night. GEEK OUT! sees the freaks and outsiders take the power back from the hipsters and the prom queens on their own stamping ground of Camden.

Every second and fourth Wednesday in the South Gallery at the world famous Proud Camden, GEEK OUT! is a celebration of dork music through the ages, from Buddy Holly to 'Buddy Holly'. But this is no closed-shop party, everyone is invited to don their spectacles and get their geek on.

The brainchild of music journalists Daniel Martin, Hamish MacBain and Mark Beaumont, the songs at GEEK OUT! come from across the ages and from any genre. Ranging from the girl groups of the 1950s, new wave classics from Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson, outsider indie anthems from Pulp and Ash, geek icons They Might Be Giants and The B-52s through Beastie Boys floor-fillers to modern lonely-on-the-dancefloor classics from Robyn - the only guarantee is that you're likely to hear a Weezer song every half hour. It all adds up to fantasy world of high school dreams, sci-fi B-movies, classic C86 indie clubs and the greatest prom night of your life, every two weeks. The geeks are taking over a corner of Camden, before going for the world.

GEEK OUT! also programmes a white-hot bill of new bands, guest DJs and secret special guests. Playing the launch night are The Siegfried Sassoon. This Surrey five-piece play an infectious blend of post-pop, all the breakneck guitars, gameboy bleeps and songs that never go where you expect them to. Their debut EP 'I Galactico' / 'The Al Gore Rhythm' has already won plaudits from Artrocker, Rockfeedback and Contactmusic, making them one of the rising stars of the vibrant Kingston indie scene around Banquet Records.

8pm-1am. £3 entry / £2 for those wearing glasses or prom dresses (girls or boys)

Our pre-Bestival bash features up-and-coming legends LITTLE FISH and our bezza mates INNERCITY PIRATES playing live. Plus keep an eye out for special guests!

GEEK OUT! For freaks, gleeks, Nancy Boys, Sandra-Dees, the left-handed and anyone who never got picked for the netball team.

    Entry: £3 (£2 if you're wearing glasses)

Nuff said!

*All sets/interviews will also be recorded for broadcast courtesy of those nice people at Jagermeister!

Principal song writer of Patrick Hamilton, Ralegh Long is an emergent talent, commanding in the strength and intricacy of his melodies.

    DIRTY CRAWLERS
"This is well-made, good-intentioned quality rock. This is dirty, boozy, gritty 'Golden Age' style rhythm and blues. Good enough for your old man. Good enough for your Grand Daddy too. And definitely good enough for you!" - Neil Mach, April 2010

    STARLINGS
Ok, so accepted culture tell us that when we hear the phrase electro in 2010 we're supposed to roll our eyes and mutter something under our breath. Well check your jaded preconceptions in at the baggage claim now. Starlings buck the trend with sophisticated  innovations of electronics deserving of their Sheffield 'synth city' roots.

  • Oops Presents...Josh Osho, Heel, The Coolness19:30PM - 01:30AM

    Josh Osho:

    1. Take 1 young man from the Southern corner of London. Soak in a bowl with rise and falls, big success's and even bigger failures then sprinkle with a pinch of seasoning.
    2. Drain the excess and throw into a pre-heated studio, add crushed vocals, rich lyrics, assorted melodies, some chopped beats, a large tablespoon of heart and just a touch of sugar. Leave for a few days, remove and allow to cool.
    3. Pour a generous helping of eclectic tastes ranging from hip hop-dubstep-soul-folk.
    4. Serve hot, garnished with a truly unique sound and lyrical content that cannot be ignored.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heel - Just another four piece band - 3 classically trained super brains fallen from Olympian conservatories across the globe fronted by Eagle, a skull breaking skinhead ex-nun, ex-stripper who means it on heart soaring vocals playing shit kicking rock 'n' roll with a soul born out of the art of the angels and the arse end of Archway. On Guitar - Dan's orchestral manoeuvres on the strings call to heaven where others just beckon. On Bass - Gunn a Korean mofo from a dynasty of silent killaz places space within sound. On Drums - Cristiano's rhythms show the virtuoso restraint yet speak an anarchist march. They are Heel because even on the ground, the good walk tall and the great will heal us of our ills.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Coolness are an electro indie band, that usually have mad stage shows with dancers, as they will be playing an acoustic set i dont think that will be the case on this night. Ill give you their web sight and my space so you can check them out http://www.thecoolness.net/   http://www.myspace.com/tenderlovingcoolness

It all adds up to fantasy world of high school dreams, sci-fi B-movies, classic C86 indie clubs and the greatest prom night of your life, every two weeks. The geeks are taking over a corner of Camden, before going for the world.

    Entry: £3 (£2 if you're wearing glasses)
    Proud Camden, South Gallery
    7.30pm-1am

Summer 2010 sees the launch of a brave new era in dancing, a new kind of night. GEEK OUT! sees the freaks and outsiders take the power back from the hipsters and the prom queens on their own stamping ground of Camden.

    CHANNEL CAIRO live
    RAMONA live

7.30pm -1am. £3 entry / £2 for those wearing glasses or prom dresses (girls or boys)

GEEK OUT! For freaks, gleeks, Nancy Boys, Sandra-Dees, the left-handed and anyone who never got picked for the netball team.

Nuff said!

*All sets/interviews will also be recorded for broadcast courtesy of those nice people at Jagermeister!

  • No Fiction presents..Burn Before Reading, Allies19:30PM - 01:30AM

    BURN BEFORE READING
June, 2009, the Met office had promised us a barbeque summer, when you live in a little town with a train station pointing you to "nowhere" or "somewhere", you hold onto vignettes like that; it helps to brighten the day...2 weeks later, nothing had happened and the barbeque purchased by Barney, Garry, Al and Dan Yeah? in the Woolworth's closing down sale seemed to be just gathering dust, the only thing they had was a broken laptop, some borrowed instruments and desire to barbeque or make music. They chose music. The fruits of the laptop sessions, crafted through the broken screen of a laptop and an old mic are on offer for you

    ...SPLEEN UNITED
    ...
Spleen United (a nod to french modernist poet Baudelaire, not the organ) have been decorated with a slew of Danish music awards and #1 hits. With a live show that is simply explosive, as witnessed by more than 30.000 fans at Roskilde Festival (Denmarks premiere annual festival), the Danes colour their performances with pulsating lights and a booming sound that is equally at home in rock venues, dance clubs or arenas. Subbing guitar and bass for synthesizers, Spleen United inject a bounce into their melodious rock songs, which occasionally veer into atmospheric grooves before climaxing in a burst of raw energy magnified tenfold on stage.

With a poweful live show and a singular sound, it's easy to see why NME decsribed the band's music as "Rich, chunky electro-rock that leaves you feeling woozy and strangely satisfied" while LA's trendsetting buzzbands.la proclaimed: "The barrage of beats and sequencer scribbles will make your inner computer swoon.

    ENGINE-EARZ EXPERIMENT - myspace.com/engineearz

.... Engine-EarZ Experiment are a musical collective born out of the Dubstep scene in early 2009 centering around acclaimed multi-instrumentalist/scorer/dj/producer Prashant Mistry.

Growing up in Britain with Asian roots, Prash had always sought to reconcile his varied musical influences from The Prodigy and Rage Against The Machine through to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Talvin Singh. Indeed, working towards Engine-EarZ's debut album [working title 'Symbol'] the focus is to smash glass divides between genres and ideologies; fusing indigenous musics from around the world with elements of dubstep, drum'n'bass, electronica and rock.

Engine Earz Experiment have started to make a name for themselves both as djs and a live set included playing alongside a list that boasts Caspa, Rusko, Shy FX, Skream, Benga as well as headlining spots at the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury 2009 and the London Mela.

So with growing support from fans and critics alike, some big remixes and festivals in the pipeline, and an album to drop in 2010, it looks like things are only getting started for the Engine-EarZ Experiment!

Nuff said!

*All sets/interviews will also be recorded for broadcast courtesy of those nice people at Jagermeister!
*The Remix is broadcast every Friday on XFM between 10pm-2am.
