BandangoBUNNY COME, THE COOLNESS, KRISTIAN MARR, THE RITZZ + BANDANGOS DJ19:30PM - 01:30AM

Bandangos live promotions prides itself on giving unsigned bands the chance to support big acts and get their name out there into the public eye.Bandangos runs 5 venues across the UK and has montly spots at Club NME Hitchin. SO...if you wana dance if you wana party GET YOUR BANDANGOS ON!!

    Bunny come

Bunny Come began as a studio project in London mid 2009; the ADHD brainchild of my friends Nicole Bettencourt Coelho, Paul Ressel and Harmony Boucher. Joyously welding growling bass-lines and quirky gizmodgery to a bootful of hooky melodies, Bunny Come lived in the computer until drummer Matthew Christensen joined a few months later. We four misfits took it live, boasting a grunting rhythm section (and the occasional tiny shorts) to compliment our synth-washed set.

People, we have started a sweaty, dirty, public affair with The Machines. It doesn't make sense, it hurts a little bit sometimes and people look at us funny, but it feels goooooooooooood. We're playing all over the place this Summer, and we want you to see what happens when four people and four machines touch each other

    The Coolness
The Coolness have got it all figured out..." The Playground
    "X-Rated, nipple-taped electro carnage!" LTD

FREAKIN' SHRIEKIN' HAVOK-REEKIN' riot-starters The Coolness are gearing up for the release of debut album "In touch with tomorrow" with some select dates both at home and abroad.
Hot stepping it through a cloud of Volcanic ash at Heathrow, Chaz John Ross et al return from triumphant shows at SXSW and NYC where they officially turned 'art rock' into 'sex rave' for the first time on US soils.

Mixing all the best elements of KISS, Rocky Horror, acid house and electro, this East London collective have embodied the spirit of Shoreditch's DIY warehouse scene like no other band in the last year - with their own 'anti-band / anti-fashion' philosophy, sex fuelled live show and cult club night, CLUB COOL.

Having decided it's about time to emerge from below the radar, the last few months have seen The Coolness drop the glitter and nipple-tassels of the stage for the confines of the studio. The result will reach yo before the end of the year.

How can you go wrong when every song is a LOVE song?

    ★★ THURSDAY 8th JULY ★★

    ♥ Smash & Grab Presents: ♥

    ★★★★★ SMASH LIVE ★★★★★
    7.30pm - 11pm

    ♥ ALI LOVE
    www.myspace.com/mralilove
Ali Love is perhaps still best known for providing the vocals on the 2007 Chemical Brothers track 'Do It Again'. As of 2009 Ali Love had a new (indie) record deal and 2010 could be the year that he'll be recognized for his own recordings. His breed of 80s influenced electro-pop with a synth-laden, disco sound provides the perfect platform for Love's Prince-esque vocals.

    ♥ LOEBEAT
    www.myspace.com/loebeat
Loebeat is a new pop group composed of three members - Dicey Hunter, R. Twete and Lula. Born out of the North of England. They create orchestral electro pop by combining their talents in songwriting, production, photography and art direction, a true DIY band. With 3 part vocal harmonies and dancefloor beats, the sound is very minor but yet still keeps a good pop sensibility.

    11pm - 2.15am

    THIS WEEKs DJs:

With the tagline 'Expect the Unexpected', the experts in week-end revelry continue to do what they do best, presenting an eclectic mix of the best up-coming live acts and floor-filling DJ sets for a night to pure escapism.

"Black Soul Strangers live show possesses a raw energy that few artists can convincingly convey. Their fantastic work ethic, obsession with creating great music have already placed them head and shoulders above their competition as they continue to not only justify but elevate the hype already surrounding them. The Irish Pop Rock quartet have already been championed by NME, Shortlist, Radio 2's Janice Long and Dermot O Leary as well as bagging an army of cyber fans including Uk.music-jobs who described them as 'Serious contenders for next big thing status".

"FIVE WORD REVIEW: Magnificent debut kisses and punches
SOUNDS LIKE: The sound of success. 'Animate' is a rock album that knows when to whisper, and may mark a welcome fork in the road of British music.
YOU'LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: listening to one of the best new bands around. " (Red Hot Velvet)

  • Skandinavian HeartbreakersTelevision Personalities, Swing Youth, The Mighty Stef19:30PM - 01:30AM

On Monday 12th of July Skandinavian Heartbreakers returns and welcomes party-goers to three live musical acts including the legendary Television Personalities featuring Dan Treacy combined with a mix of some of the hottest Scandinavian hits played throughout the night.

Skandinavian Heartbreakers will host exciting live acts and late night DJ sets pumping out the very best Scandinavian hits. Headlining will be legendary cult band Television Personalities - featuring one of Britain's greatest songwriters Dan Treacy. Since their first album release in 1981, TVP's live sets continue to deliver slightly camp neo-psychedelia sounds with a crazed 60s influence. Treacy of TVP has generated quite a cult following throughout the years. TVP was Kurt Cobain's favourite band, MGMT have a song on their new album titled "A Song for Dan Treacy" and there are plenty of rumours about Treacy's influence behind the Arctic Monkeys. Treacy has captured British pop culture in a particularly unique and musical fashion - it's no wonder this band has continued to enjoy success throughout the years. Joining TVP is the lovable, happy quartet Swing Youth and Irish singer/songwriter The Mighty Stef.

Swing Youth are a newer band on the London scene. Currently playing a few live shows around town, Swing Youth will bring happiness and make you dance when they play Proud's South Gallery. They released their debut single last year, it is currently sold out, but you can listen to their tunes and watch their video for Myself to Blame on their myspace http://www.myspace.com/weareswingyouth. They recently released their follow-up single Jennifer/Hey Keith and this is still available. If you wanna have a great time with this lovable, happy quartet come down to Skandinavian Heartbreakers on the 12th of July.

Last, but certainly not least, SH are happy to welcome The Mighty Stef to the night. The Mighty Stef is an Irish singer/songwriter. Influenced by the likes of Johnny Cash, The Pogues, The Dubliners, and his way of storytelling his songs, this will be a very interesting gig for both him and the lucky audience. He will be performing some songs from his albums The Sins of Sainte Catherine, and the 2009 release 100 Midnights.
Listen to some of his songs on http://www.myspace.com/themightystefband.

Russian RouletteVices, Turbogeist, The Hyenas, Happy Slaves, 19:30PM - 01:30AM

Russian Roulette, brought to you by the thoroughly disgraceful duo of Mark and Ed, returns to Proud Galleries Camden once more on the 14th July to bring you some of the finest bands and some of the most atrocious behavior that can be witnessed in London at the moment. This is going to be a massive one, you might want to pre-book an Ambulance.

This month's DJ action comes courtesy of the now legendary (and in some places now actually barred) Awful Things who will be spinning vinyl of the usual and unusual variety throughout the night to keep your ears entertained, and make your brain hurt and maybe even make you sick.

As a special treat, the nights going to be compered by one of the worst behaved people in London, Mr. Ron Brand, or Russell's dad as he's know to the police.

And taking to the stage live we present to you........

    Vices www.myspace.com/vicesbanduk

Vices are a band of the moment. They've just released an album recorded in LA with Jeff Saltzman (The Killers/Green Day) and we liked it so we booked them. They're banned from some places for trashing them apparently, this gained them the right to headline Russian Roulette. You will love them.69+

    Turbogeist www.myspace.com/turbogeist

Turbogeist combine party punk sounds with more macabre fantastic aural imagery while thrashing some heavy alternative tock. Bottom line listen to it loud. Oh, but bring earplugs. They're a real scream. Fresh from a US tour which saw them fighting with cactus's and generally annoying people and making a mess, we welcome them to try and do something similar on our stage and to our stage.

    The Hyenas www.myspace.com/thehyenas

Hyenas are a band that have been gaining notoriety lately, with a string of independently released singles and championed by the likes of XFM, Artrocker, and even the legendary Rok Pete. Fronted the god of hairspray Mr Paul Marks, they put on a show the way it should be done. Loud, dirty and a little bit naughty.

"They've already supported Babyshambles and Gallows, and they've got a certain sparkle and fire that's perceptible from just one listen, it's all good" - Hard Wired

    Happy Slaves www.myspace.com/happyslaves

Underground Camden noise pirates venture out to grace us with their presence for a very rare show. We're a bit worried. The singer may or may not come dressed as a pig. Expect references to the illuminate, Michael Jackson, Jesus, and a lot of noise. We don't know much more about them, they're a bit secretive but we know their good.

Therapy Sessions.....LIVE is the brainchild of Artcha: artist and co-founder of Three Musketeer Entertainment (3Me) and business partner Kevin.

Artcha is no newcomer to this industry as he hails from the same music "crew" that brought the likes of Sway and Pyrelli to the U.K. music industry.
Artcha currently is working on his second album, working title, due for release early 2010. "The album is shaping up to be a monster; groundbreaking even. So far, we have Kele Le Roc, Chrome (Dizzie Rascal' "Holiday" / Calvin Harris: "Dance Wiv Me") and Lei (currently touring with Grace Jones) featured on the album."

    Adelaide Mackenzie
    The Mac Band

Having been in the industry for some time, Artcha now feels it's long overdue for more UK talent to be recognised and have that much needed exposure they so deserve.
Previous Therapy Sessions...LIVE has hosted such talent as Roses Gabor: who was a featured vocalist on Gorillaz: Demon Days album, with her new formed band Wide Awake Nation, Sean Taylor, hotly tipped for huge future success having completed various festivals: three stages at Glastonbury, Blue Balls in Lucerne, Tolpuddle Martyrs, Tenby Blues and Broadstairs Folk Week to name just a few.

    Ticket price:
    £5 for guys
£4 for ladies (both payable on the door)

Every month we hope to deliver something new to appear in our stalls so that each evening will never be the same. From uniquely designed tops and vintage accessories to extraordinary photographs and vinyl's that you thought you would never see again, you're bound to find something that will inspire you. So don't forget to bring just a little extra pocket money, you never know what you might find.

    On stage this Month:
    Ghostcat - www.myspace.com/ghostcatmusic
Ghostcat are an exotic explosion of dancefloor electronica, pop love and sabre toothed guitars; good time music giving vent to bad, bad thoughts. Guitarist Dan Gamble spent his early life hop-scotching between Tokyo and London. Born in Toronto, singer Ali Cat was the guitarist in an all-girl teen punk band at sixteen. By 2006 she was living in in an 'aspiring art collective' in Kilburn, also home to Dan. They recruited French drummer Etienne Bellot and Aussie bassist Ben Larsen and began playing raucous live shows sounding half The Kills and half Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Gig by gig they got in touch with their inner dirty dancefloor selves so that by the time they were snapped up by France's Kuskus label they were as into messing with formulas behind the synthetic filth of Crystal Castles as with The Ting Tings' pop crunch. 'This Is A Bust' - their first single - particularly encapsulates their oeuvre, a deviant disco skipping tune about boys.

The sexy eclecticism of their first album was recorded in the underground studio owned by Prince's 'Under The Cherry Moon' engineer Chuck Norman. They're now out of the basement, blinking in the pop sunlight and ready to take their rocktronic decadence to all corners.

    The Bluesmiths Band - www.myspace.com/thebluesmithsband
"The Bluesmith's Band has under gone a number of changes to get where it is now. Originally started off as a blues jam band trio, the band has now transformed into a five piece monster. At heart the music is essentially rooted strongly in the blues however the band incorporate a classic feel of organic soul and experimentation with Rock and Electro into the equation to give their music that fresh modern unique edge.
The band itself over the last 2 years has been fortunate enough to have gigged in some of London's most prestigious venues such as Jazz Café, Shoreditch House, The Marquee Club, The Cobden Club, The Pigalle, Barfly, Grand Clapham Hall, The Lexington and many more and continues to spread the infectious vibes of their trade"

    DeVille - www.myspace.com/thisisdeville
Deville ride on a wave, a sound wave that stretches all the way back to 80's electronica and synth-pop, and bounces through 90's techno, rave, hardcore and bubblegum to post-Millenium electro and UK Indie. Dark, driven and drowning in dance beats, this death disco four piece are energetic, electric and wonderfully eclectic.

    Linda Harrison - www.myspace.com/lindaharrison
Next generation DIY artist, not the pop punk Princess but the pop rock Queen. Linda Harrison is a performer, a singer-songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist. She's the girl that released her debut album and left her Edinburgh home to follow her dreams in London at just 16. With an album already under her belt, Linda immediately immersed herself into working her band, song writing, live shows, and recording. Now just 19 Linda has single-handedly developed an incredible multimedia presence using film, viral campaigns and innovative YouTube videos, gaining over one million views worldwide. Not only has she built an impressive online presence, but offline her presence is just as large. With preview CDs of her self-released debut single "Fight About It" lying in coffee shops up and down the country with "Take me home, enjoy me, and then return for the next finder" inscribed, this girl is not short of innovative ideas. She is highly rated by her peers, fans and industry alike instigating whirlwinds in A&R, radio and promoter circles. Linda has been approached by both Cutfather and Frankmusik due to her massive online presence and has now collaborated with them both. Currently she is cooking up a storm with some of the world's best songwriters, and this is set to continue. Having played in Edinburgh's greatest new venue HMV Picture house, London's Indigo2, festivals like Great Escape and Beach Break, and now breaking out of the UK, it seems as though things couldn't be going any better for this unsigned act. Linda is the epitome of a new breed of artist who is perfectly placed to succeed in the new 21st century music industry.

  • Proud Presents...Bryony Marie Fry, Boycott Monday, Benjamin Bloom & King With No Throne19:30PM - 01:30AM

    King With No Throne
                               http://www.myspace.com/kingwithnothrone

The roots of the band go back to late 2000, when Reto Wittwer and Kasem Chouja meet in Sydney Australia. After a few jam sessions, a unique sound arose where electrifying guitar riffs bonded with exotic drum rhythms.
King with no throne have been described by audience and critics alike as having a certain likeness with Pink Floyd, The Doors, Massive attack and The Prodigy. The effect of the music (which often exceeds the 7 minute mark) is for many akin to being drawn into a vast dream landscape.

    Boycott Monday
                               http://www.myspace.com/boycottmondaymusic

The Boycott Mondays, 4 guys and a girl called  Martha. The Boycott Mondays are based in Hammersmith and draws their main influence from popular Indie bands such as Block Pary, Kings of Leon and The Maccabees.

Sam Freeman founded Typical Sons in early 2010 after a lengthy tour playing bass for legendary rock n' roll shoegaze band Spiritualized. Sam Had a load of lyrics kicking about after touring and when he settled he finally decided to start up his own thing. Sam draws his influences form artists such as; Soulsaver, Spiritualized, The Dead Weather and The Kills.

    Benjamin Bloom
                              http://www.myspace.com/benjaminbloom

Benjamin gets his majopr influences form artist such as Elton John, Muse, Queen Billy Joel. As quoted by Graeme Mac at BBC Introducing Benjamin's music is "'In the way that every Knight in Shining Armor should, His Royal Highness Benjamin Bloom will lead us to immortality with a fine blend of Queen...meets Sweeney Todd'.

    Bryony Marie Fry
                               http://www.myspace.com/bryonyfrymusic

    Be Presents....Kinema:, 2 Hot 2 Sweat, Dancing Robot Music (DJ set)19:30PM - 02:30AM

Ah July... the glorious English summer is in full swing, the shires resound to the thud of leather on willow and in South West London the sound of polite queuing and strawberry munching is punctuated only by the grunt of white clad cavewomen. Meanwhile in Camden, another more recent tradition is being observed as the thermostat bubbles up from hot to sizzling and Be unveil another month of cutting edge bands and DJs.

Playing live this month are the some of the most exciting new bands around including the likes of Canadian-via-Bristol synth-poppers Fitness Club Fiasco, hotly tipped Dansette Junior, psychedelic visionaries Sunbirds and new pop sensations :Kinema:, whilst host and ringmaster David H is joined on the decks by the likes of Mercury nominated The Invisible, Manchester's hottest electro act The Whip, and Fabric resident Stopmakingme.

Now in its third year Be at Proud redefined London's club scene with its unique mix of indie, disco, electro and rock n' roll, spectacular live acts, performance art and burlesque. From Mystery Jets to Friendly Fires, Au Revoir Simone to Ebony Bones, Be has showcased many of the most exciting new bands around today, and seen the likes of New Young Pony Club, Annie, Munk, Disco Bloodbath and Rory Phillips all take turns on the decks.

    What The Papers Say:
'a carefree carnival atmosphere'  Time Out
'BE is clearly getting a lot of things right' Time Out

    2 HOT 2 SWEAT
2 Hot 2 Sweat formed when Matt Leuw and Mia Lane decided to put the sometimes disturbing contents of their brains to music. Debut single Your Space Or Mine was released on NROne Records, followed by Half Assed Rom Com - a dancefloor filler musing on the dismal dating scene. The latter coincided with the band's performance as part of the Electric Proms, at a tribute night celebrating the life of the legendary John Peel. They won support and airplay from Radio 1's Huw Stephens, 6Music's Tom Robinson, XFM's John Kennedy and a host of other DJs. They recorded a session for Marc Riley, were featured in Artrocker and played with a host of amazing bands including the Duke Spirit, Bearsuit, Rolo Tomassi, So So Modern, Golden Silvers, Micachu & The Shapes, The Invisible, Django Django and Kids Love Lies. In 2009, they played Latitude Festival and are now throwing themselves headfirst into 2010.

  • No Fiction .... The Palpitations, Creatures of Love, Back Seat Heart Beats19:30PM - 01:30AM

Ulterior club night No Fiction takes over Proud Camden for a seminal showcase of electronic, independent and acoustic artists.

A crime of boys who love their music just a bit too much, Kilburn club No Fiction has been hosting some outrageous gigs in the most intimate settings since their 2008 inception for progressive luminaries including Kasms, O. Children, Electricity In Our Homes, The Good Natured, Losers (Eddie Temple-Morris and Tom Bellamy,) Violet Violet, La Shark, Trash Fashion and Bearsuit.

    With a decidedly open approach the night's raison d'etre is summed up eclectically by the lads as "dark disco, ulterior indie, wtf electro and shock rock", a broad stable that saw them invited to DJ at Hop Farm Festival 2009. True to that philosophy their third Proud Galleries date is set to be a rather special vignette onto the scene;

    THE PALPITATIONS
"The Palpitations produce a wall of sound that is evocative and powerful, music that snares and circles your brain like a wild animal hunting its prey...It's direct, absorbing and irreducible" Breaking Waves.

"That was the fantastic Palpitations from Pushing Pussy Records with 'Tears in The Rain'. They have just released a 300 Limited Edition 7" Vinyl, I've bought mine, number 176 so you better hurry & grab your copy, great stuff!" Andrew Weatherall BBC 6Music.
    http://www.myspace.com/thepalpitationsuk

    CREATURES OF LOVE
"A trio formed in Kentish Town in the summer of 2009. Comprising former art students; producer/ guitarist Chris Willsher and lyricist/ vocalist Bonita McKinney. Chris formerly of the band Sad Season  and Bonita a past Burlesque and ballet dancer, are now embarking on creating their own independent 'Dream Pop' sound with their music orchestrated by symphonic layered guitars and analogue drum machines they are complimented for their epic and moving instrumentation combined with the individual and melancholy lyrics." Skiddle.com
    http://www.myspace.com/creaturesoflove

    BACK SEAT HEART BEATS
Born of a litany of Camden punk outfits these eclectics some how fine daylight between the Ramones-ish raucousness and MBV wall of sound to establish their own unique direction.
    http://www.myspace.com/backseatheartbeats

Entry: £6 on the door or please drop us a line for concessions lists.

Be Presents..Mirrors, Run Toto Run, The Whip (DJ set)19:30PM - 02:30AM

Ah July... the glorious English summer is in full swing, the shires resound to the thud of leather on willow and in South West London the sound of polite queuing and strawberry munching is punctuated only by the grunt of white clad cavewomen.

Ah July... the glorious English summer is in full swing, the shires resound to the thud of leather on willow and in South West London the sound of polite queuing and strawberry munching is punctuated only by the grunt of white clad cavewomen.
