Launched in London in June 2004, ILUVLIVE is a live event success story. With few live showcases open to home grown music, ILUVLIVE has helped numerous performers present their artistry with a full live band to music industry virtuosos, journalists and fans alike. The last two years has seen the likes of Kano, Taio Cruz, Bashy, Chipmunk, Tinchy Stryder, Katy B, Ndubz, Tawiah, Roll Deep, Donaeo, DJ Ironik, Crazy Cousinz, Ms Dynamite, Natty, Cocknbullkid, Laura Izibor, Ghetts, MPHO, Sway, Gracious K, Shystie, The Stow, and The Thirst grace the ILUVLIVE stage alongside some of the UK's most promising new talent.

Master of homegrown talent Ras Kwame (BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra) has been involved in the night since its inception and is still our regular Master of Ceremonies, ably supported by Twin B (BBC 1Xtra), up and coming comedian, Little Man and guest presenters.

The ILUVLIVE 60 second open mic has now reached legendry status with established acts getting involved, just for the hell of it, alongside newcomers. Anyone can sign up for the open mic but the 8-12 slots fill up fast and the competition is ferocious with the best two winning a coveted slot at the following weeks show.

    DJ Jaguar Skills

With the likes of Mark Ronson, Lupe Fiasco, Trevor Nelson and Chris Moyles unable to get enough of the original ninja - Mr Jaguar Skills - the rise (and rise) of this ground-breaking artist has been well documented. Honing his craft and love of music for the last 15 years Jag has remained true to his school and kept a slightly mysterious edge to his character; with details of his real name, age and home town etc left largely unconfirmed...
Starting in 1993 Jaguar Skills was a Hip-Hop journalist. He published a Hip-Hop fanzine and worked as editor for the genre at the esteemed Blues & Soul Magazine. During his editorship he interviewed and met almost every prolific Emcee and Producer of the time - legends such as Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Eminem, Dr Dre, Snoop, KRS-One and Public Enemy. These meetings inspired Jag and set him on a path spanning 2 decades and counting. Wanting to be more 'hands on' 1995 saw Jag move into a music PR role for Profile Records; Profile was home of Afika Bammbaataa and Run DMC at the time.

    Statistics

Born 1810 in a Ninja Cave in Japan - Trained in Ninja Djing up a mountain in Spain for 5 years before coming to London to tear up Ninja Styleeeee!
    Early Career
Jaguar Skills started out as a journalist which meant he met and interviewed some of the biggest stars of the genre including The Notorious B.I.G., Eminem, Snoop, Public Enemy and Tupac Shakur. Such experiences gave Skills the impetus to become more involved within the music industry itself, and he soon moved in to a PR role for a record label which was at the time home to Run DMC and Afrika Bambaataa. Skills' breakthrough came in 2002 when he made a mixtape CD for clothing label Maharishi, which was well received. From there he went on to build his profile and learn his craft in clubs across London.
    Jezebel Residency
In 2004 Skills was asked by Jade Jagger to take up residency at her famous Jezebel nights in Ibiza. Things quickly progressed and Skills started to DJ other Jezebel events across the globe including in Europe, Russia and Hong Kong.

    Current Work
Currently Jaguar Skills has a slot on Radio 1s Trevor Nelson show on Saturday night at around 8:00pm (GMT-BS). His mixes are normally around 10 minutes, however he has created an hour and a half 30 years of Hip Hop mix and a two hour gaming mix. In 2009 he carried out his second UK tour, visitng universities and nightclubs with the highlight date being in Cargo (club), London. There have also been reports that he may release an album in 2010. He appears on the 'In New DJs We Trust' circuit on Radio 1, playing a one hour show each time there is a fifth thursday in a month. The show consists of mash-up mixes and comedic soundbites, due to Jaguar's Inability to speak.
    Traditions and Character
Jaguar Skills is famously known for playing the character of a ninja made up of 90% water and 100% ninja[1]. Fabulous secret powers were revealed to him when he held his magic stick into the air air yelled 'Jaguar Skills. HoooooOOOOOOooooo'. He is unable to speak, as Trevor Nelson cut out his vocal cords in the forest when they began working together. During his live shows he is dressed as a ninja with a full ninja mask so that only his eyes show.[2]
Traditions which have been created around Jaguar Skills include the response to the words "Jaguar Skills" which should be meet with "HoooooOOOOOOooooo" by the crowd. His identity is also completely hidden and only known by Trevor Nelson.

Jade Jagger and Dan Williams 'Jezebel Soundsystem'

Born in New York 1971, Jade Jagger has since carved a feted reputation as an artist, creative director and visionary jeweller.
Jade's childhood coincided with the halcyon days of the pop art scene in New York. Andy Warhol's 'The Factory' inspired and nurtured Jade's talent for painting. It was he who famously said, "I love Mick and Bianca, but Jade's more my speed. I taught her how to colour and she showed me how to play Monopoly. She was four and I was forty-four." Although educated at St Marys Calne in Wiltshire it was this early influence, which shaped Jade's career as an artist. In the late 80's and early 90's Jade held numerous, successful exhibitions of her works.
Jade's entrepreneurial spirit led her to apply her decorative, bohemian style to one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces and in September 1997, Jade Inc. was born. Her jewellery was initially available exclusively through Paul Smith stores around the world. The response from clients and press was overwhelming and led to an impressive international list of stockists including Maxfields, Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, Collette, Browns, The Cross and A La Mode amongst others. Jade Inc. had become a global business. Jade's critical and commercial success did not go unnoticed by Asprey & Garrard, and in September 2000 she was appointed fine jeweller to the House.
Jade's dedication and innovation of design reached a new generation and earned her the prestigious promotion to Creative Director at Garrard. Jade has overseen all of the creative communication since the Crown Jewellers relaunch and its subsequent worldwide retail openings in London, New York, Moscow, Dubai and Japan.
Having stepped down as Creative Director in July 2007 Jade continues to work with the house designing an exclusive collection of fine jewellery for them. This perennial collection is to be devoted to the ancient, ornamental gemstone and her namesake, Jade.
Paris Fashion Week of October 2007 saw the launch of Jade's first independent collection since Garrard. Encompassing both jewellery and clothing, this collection characterised the colliding world she inhabits and represented a nostalgic nod to the Halcyon days of Jade Inc. Jade Jagger Jewels and Jezebel were bought by a number of leading stockists worldwide including Liberty, Colette, Isetan, 10 Corso Como and Podium.
Meanwhile Jade had been carving out a reputable name for herself in the world of music with Jezebel. This began as a residence in Ibiza's club of clubs; Pacha and swiftly grew into a Sound, Design and Music factory fusing the three worlds through means such as DJ sets, original recordings, live gigs and a capsule clothing collection. Jade took Jezebel to new heights organising events across Europe, in the Far East and London.

'For fans of eclectic synthy indie music and dubstep to rock 'n' roll records' -Time Out Bear Cub Music bring their new night Bear Club on the 3rd March to the infamous Proud Galleries, Camden - focused on bringing together the best in new music so there isn't any one act you can afford to miss. The live music is to be followed by the hottest new DJ's from a multitude of genres plus Bear Cub Resident - Benjamus Prime, of label/super blog Proper songs. Bear Club's has in the past kept their promise to bring the best in new music to small, intimate, London venues, hosting Island Records new star Tinashé, Kissy Sell Out's enormously talented cousin - Danimal Kingdom and new XL/Salvia signing Nic Nell at The Macbeth, Hoxton.

March sees the turn of Lunar Youth to take to the stage at Bear Club's new home. The band have recently released the powerful 'Misfits' single on Young and Lost Club and are set for huge things this year. Two more live acts will shortly be named but, in the style of Bear Club, they will be the most exciting new acts at the time so watch this space.

DJ's on the night include Benjamus Prime of music blog/indie label Proper Songs and the mighty Author who will be dropping the bass driven electronic sounds that has made him a favourite among the crowds in east London.
The night will be taking place on the first Wednesday of every month at Proud Camden's intimate south gallery and is set to carry on putting together big names in small venues before the others follow the herd.

For the rest of February we are also teaming up with The BBC Performing Arts Fund, to showcase some of the finalists from their Urban Music Scheme, which helps new talent move their career forward.
The finalists you'll see on stage scattered throughout February have all won money from the charity to support them in their work as artists. For more information on the fund, to sign up for newsletters or to find out how you can apply in 2010 go to -  www.bbc.co.uk/performingartsfund

The Orphans, Alfie and the Holics, Lipstick Melodies, Kristian Marr, Embryon, The VolitainsRussian Roulette19:30PM - 01:30AM

Russian Roulette, the best rock n roll night in London, brought to you by Mark and Edd, hits Proud once again on March 9th. As always we have some great bands playing for you, some rockin' tunes and enough booze to disable an african elephant.

Awful Things will be DJing as usual, assaulting your ear drums like a family of angry earwigs!

This is also our YEAR ANNIVERSARY hosting Russian Roulette at Proud so come and celebrate with us!!

Live on stage this month we have...

    THE ORPHANS...

"From The Kinks to The Stones, from The Clash to Primal Scream, the Thatcher years informed a youth so redundant of hope they could only live in the now, so everything mattered right then. The Orphans focus this sound for the bad times to come, this will be your sound track...don't fight it. Please sir...can I have some more..."
    I.D. magazine. September 2008

The Orphans, rise proudly from the scattered ashes of a fractured urn, featuring two true lost souls of rock 'n' roll, former members of arse-waving, hairspray explosion-in-a-teacup rockers These Animal Men. The Orphans, with one part Cooper Clarke, three parts MC5, and two parts The Who at their meaty, beaty, bouncy best, teeter on the brink of the rock opera abyss.

"Musically, they fuse Townsend windmills and power chords, with Mott the Hoople and Only Ones street glam, lyrically they reveled in inherent cool..... Speeed king became new mod slang....by 1998 they were clad in black leather and churning out amped-up MC5 styled punk blues.... "
Lois Wilson - Mojo magazine. June 2009

Boag and Hooligan (now reborn Jonny Orphan) return, united in rock and roll and a rolling stomping cave man groove. Two new cohorts were recruited and these dashing blades, stride proudly forward unleashing a power that will grace your soul and steal your heart... 2008 saw the triumphant return continue with the initial limited release of a great new album...MUFF. A monster swagger of garage rock and grime that encapsulates everything the MC5 shared with us, and cursed us to follow. A sprinkling of Jon Spencer and a Dickensian street screamer (murder in Whitechapel) saves us from the tired quintessential trad London gutter and has us staring at the 'No Wave' stars over a 70's Manhattan/Tunbridge Wells.

    KRISTIAN MARR...

    www.myspace.com/kristianmarr

Returning to London after a lengthy tour of Paris and a stint in New York City, former Towers of London guitarist, the myth, the legend and beast that is Kristian Marr will be taking to the stage once again.

    LIPSTICK MELODIES...

    www.myspace.com/lefthandband

The Lipstick Melodies are a young, vibrant band that capture a musicality and lifestyle that tastes of rock and roll at it's initial implosion- when the music of Chuck Berry and Howlin' Wolf was being twisted to fit the commercial vitality of the Beatles and the Stones.

Singer Alan Wass recently played a duet of song Hired Gun on MTV with Pete Doherty

    THE VOLITAINS...

    www.myspace.com/thevolitains

What came out was a bit of Bowie, a chunk of Depeche Mode, a slice of The White Stripes and hint of the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs. It seemed to wash ok, and after interrogating potential band mates they came across James, their bass player who added the missing groove. Forming in summer 2008 they have spent a year writing, recording, rehearsing, partying and recovering together. The sound has now evolved to be a mixture of punk and blues and with a new E.P. produced by Mark Waterman (Adam & The Ants, Depeche Mode, Elastica) and more on the way they are kicking the shit out of P.A systems around London.

    EMBRYON...

    www.myspace.com/embryonrockband

Embryon brings you rock with attitude, a blend of power rock and melodic hard rock with musical influences as diverse as Metallica, Neil Young and Max Roach.

The Embryon sound is not painted in the two tones of black and grey, mixing crunching guitar riffs with anthemic vocals, the melodic overtones laces the sound with layers of colour to produce a strong sonic identity that encapsulates a wide musical spectrum full of dynamics and diversity. Add a pinch of technique, attention for details and arrangements, and you've got a multi dimensional experience that is Embryon.

    ALFIE AND THE HOLICS...

    www.myspace.com/alfiecicale

If you've already listened to the songs you won't need me to tell you that Alfie is a unique talent with an extraordinary voice who writes songs that are immediate, yearning, relevant and a blast of fresh air in the current climate of muggy mediocrity. He moved to Camden, North London in July of this year and immediately started writing songs inspired by his journey, his environment and his variety of influences cherry picked from every decade of the last fifty years. I met him by chance in Camden's The Hawley Arms where he recommended I listen to his myspace site. That night I listened and called him first thing the next day. He was asleep but called me back on waking around lunchtime and wasted no time in telling me what he was doing, why he was doing it and where he was going. I tended to agree and within a very short space of time he was playing gigs around London and winning converts with every strum of his glittering, spangled, space-dust fuelled guitar... Camden Comedy night promises madness in one off double act competition special.
Stand Up Proud the new monthly comedy night at the Proud Galleries in Camden is giving the public a chance to view and vote on some truly original comedy. For the show on Sunday March 14th up and coming comics who have never written as double acts before have been paired together with only a month to write and premier it for the first time on stage in front of a full audience. The night will be headlined by Ricky Gervais' warm up act from his last Tour, character comedian hilarious Brian Gitins, and musical comedienne Carly Smallman. What's more the audience will play the part of the judges and decide who the best double act is.
Compere Adam Larter said ' I've seen all the acts perform before and they have been hand picked personally as some of the best acts on the London circuit. However the first time I see the double acts will be the same time as the audience do, they could be brilliant they could be terrible, it's up to the audience to decide.'
Stand Up Proud has already had two successful nights since its launch in January with such top comics performing as award-winning Carl Donnelly, Jay Foreman and Jimmy McGhie. They try to have as much variety as possible on a comedy night with games for the audience, musical comedy acts, sketch groups and impressionists.

Proud Camden is a great venue for comedy right in the heart of Camden with beautiful photographic surroundings and warm comfy chairs it's the best place to relax on a Sunday.

  • THE DASH, Misterkite, Fraser, Boss TerrorAll Bands on Deck present...19:30PM - 01:30AM

All Bands on Deck present their monthly serving of live London music on 16 March at Proud Camden.

    The lineup includes:

    ▌THE DASH

The Dash have built up their reputation gigging around London, doing regional shows and some European dates for around two years, supporting the likes of Gossip, Santogold, Black Lips, Robots In Disguise, Alphabeat, The Go! Team, The Libertines, Art Brut, Babyshambles, Glen Matlock, Biffy Clyro and Editors amongst others. They have played sold out nights at Barfly, Marquee, The Garage, Surfstock Festival, Middlesex University Summer Festival, the sadly missed Infinity, 93 Feet East and Death Disco as well as play in front of 1,200 fans at Camden Koko, London's bright hopes also found time to jet across the pond to rock New York's The Delancey.

"Sparring riffs, knee jerking brittleness grafted on to a raw and potent undercarriage of alarmingly infectious boot blistering boogie - dare you resist." ROUGH TRADE

    www.myspace.com/the_dash

    ▌MISTERKITE

Indie at its finest yet....MisterKite, a four piece alternative group from Hillingdon first started at the beginning of 2008. Exploding onto the indie scene with huge amounts of energy, melodic guitar riffs and upbeat hooky bass lines this is a band that will sure have your foot tapping in no time. Influenced from the likes of the infamous Beatles, Bombay Bicycle Club, Arctic Monkeys, The cribs and many more......Such tunes as Bi-Polar Beauty and slip of the tongue really show how far this band has used its influences to create great catchy songs.

    ▌FRASER

Fraser is a London based folk-pop act whose roots date back to lead vocalist, guitarist & banjo player Fraser Gregory. Born in Scotland, but raised in Malta, he founded and fronted the most popular indie band to emerge from Malta, The Beangrowers (Roughtrade). Fraser moved on to perform in the US & Europe as a solo artist.

Fraser have released their debut album 'A Garden At The Top Of The Tree' which was recorded at Temple Studios, produced by David Vella (Phillip Boa & The Voodoo Club), mixed by Luuk Cox and mastered at Metropolis Studios by Frank Archwright (Radiohead, Damien Rice, The Kooks) for newly founded label Moody Noodle. Lead single 'Lay It On the Line' was released on the 25th January 2010.

    ▌BOSS TERROR

Whether working independently or together over the last several years all of the automystics within boss terror have earned reputations as solid musicians with a respectable level of artistic credibility. Mat and Dom being brothers who have made music together and with Nick from a young age have an instinctual connection which is quite shocking and needs to be viewed to be fully understood. One person who truly understood this connection was Richard (the monkey man) Hunt, who upon his arrival completed the puzzle and gave rise to new eara of musical tomfoolary that would hencwise been known as Boss Terror and The Automystics. The band are currently playing a number of fairly low key gig's in anticipation of a ruff cut live album which will be knocking around come late march. Don't miss out, catch them, before its too late....

  • Shean Williams & The Exclusive Launch Party of 'Mixed Not Mastered' Mixtape/E.PTherapy Sessions presents19:30PM - 02:30AM

    Therapy Sessions
    Fast becoming the number 1
    Jam Session to give exposure
    to U.K. talent

    Thursday 18th March 2010

Therapy Sessions.....LIVE is the brainchild of Artcha: artist and co-founder of Three Musketeer Entertainment (3Me) and business partner Kevin.

"The boy's a bit special" Estelle

Remember the name and get ready to hear the voice of Shean Williams - a new breed of black British singer-songwriter you will be hearing everywhere in 2009.

Shean is one of those rare artists who come along every now and again who you only have to hear once to never forget as his voice resonates with every single person who hears him sing.

Call it whatever you like. Whatever 'it' is Shean's got it and his unique, new British soul sound and heartfelt, self-penned tracks make him destined to be one of the hottest stars to have come out of the UK in recent times.

Shean's remarkable talent first saw him plucked from relative obscurity to work in New York, Los Angeles and Miami with some of the biggest names in the game such as John Legend producer Dave Tozer and Amy Winehouse and Nas producer Salaam Remi.

Now Shean is ready to announce himself on the global music stage with the release of a much heralded debut new album that the fresh-faced 23-year-old jokingly describes as 20 years in the making.

Fusing a melting pot of classic soul, gospel, R&B and Hip Hop influences, Shean's music keeps it real by reflecting his roots and influences and by not being afraid to stay true to who he is - and in doing so the preacher's son from Cambridge has forged a unique new 'Sub-Urban' sound that is entirely his own and marks him out as one of the big names to watch out for this year.

For more information about Shean Williams, go to www.myspace.com/sheanwilliams

For the rest of February we are also teaming up with The BBC Performing Arts Fund, to showcase some of the finalists from their Urban Music Scheme, which helps new talent move their career forward.
The finalists you'll see on stage scattered throughout February have all won money from the charity to support them in their work as artists. For more information on the fund, to sign up for newsletters or to find out how you can apply in 2010 go to -  www.bbc.co.uk/performingartsfund

All lines will also feature the two open mic winners from the previous week.

A rowdy festival of bold new theatre and musicHorseplay19:30PM - 01:30AM

Horseplay is the latest theatre club night offering a packed line up of performance, video art and live music.

Horseplay is London's new club experience bringing the best music, visual art and
theatre under one roof for one night. Expect pop up theatrical spectaculars and
roaming puppet masters, video installation in a stable and a band on the stage.
Horseplay is curated by Rob Drummer, Stuart Christie and Sara Gudmundsdottir,
young artists working in theatre, music and design.

Why not come and hear the sensational Slutterhouse, described as an outlandish
crossover between underground electronica, mainstream club music, and rock n' roll headline in the Paddock. Before Slutterhouse, sample an evening of the boldest, brashest, funniest theatre in the stables. You'll be able to pick up some life advice from our toilet attendant who will try and sell you her wares before you leave then head over to the main stage for London's best new band, Butterflies on Strings. Take a break and head out to our terrace where the performances don't stop and keep an eye out for an invitation to a very secret theatre before dancing into the morning with our very special discJOCKEY.

Rob, Sara and Stuart are all close friends who cross over in their unique practices and still share a strong belief in creating a night out which brings a festival of the best performance and music to its audience. Especially in London when there is so much to absorb from the various venues, scenes and new pop up spaces now is the time to promote the best night out where you can sample a range of new work from the best emerging theatre companies, bands and artists.

Horseplay offers you the best night out where we bring new work to you, proudly
displaying them and remixing the club experience.

"Slutterhouse's 'Made in Dance' is one of the finest electro‐pop albums this critic has heard since Gary Numan first donned eye shadow. [...] (It) effectively straddles the line between post‐club house and chart‐grabbing hooks." ‐ Time Out Magazine "Right now there is a real appetite for a night out that matches your specific tastes, why wouldn't you want to listen to live music and see great new performances all on the same night?" Rob Drummer, Theatre Director and Horseplay Curator.

"[...]More importantly, perhaps, they can't ever sound like anything else because there's little chance a band has ever been formed by such polar opposites. There was no studious design to this sound and, unlike the vast majority of new bands, certainly no conscious imitation of a shared musical obsession. In fact, Slutterhouse is the sound of LA cock-rock and knob-twiddling techno meeting in a head-on collision that leaves only two survivors - who then bond over the rhythmic bleeps of their respective life-support cardiographs.[...]"

  • Bryn Christopher, Maverick Sabre, Kirstenana along with DJ Layzee and MC DT Milly's World19:30PM - 01:30AM

    Milly comes to Camden!
    New music visionary features
    London's finest of the future.

Upcoming internet sensation Milly Allen has partnered with the prestigious Proud Camden for her latest 'Milly's World' music showcase.

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Paul Allen's daughter Milly is billed as the 'antidote to The X Factor'. Following a fantastic launch night at the Embassy Club, Mayfair, earlier this year she's working with television production company 'Dai4Films' who'll broadcast highlights and interviews as Milly features Britain's brightest and most vibrant  unsigned acts across the web.

For Camden girl Milly, Proud is a natural home for 'Milly's World' and the line up of her Camden Event has already created a buzz of excitement across NW1:
Clement Marfo and the Frontline - Hotly tipped by Milly for 2010 Clement and his frontline offer a fusion of music that is experimental and unique and  delivered with an Energetic performance that is not to be missed. Clement without a doubt is a star well on his way that will have you dancing the night away to drums, rapping, guitars and singing.

Bryn Christopher - Signed to Geffen records and hand picked by Amy Winehouse to tour with her, Bryn has a sexy soul voice and lungs so big he fills the room. He is an amazing singer/songwriter and his lyrics that often focus on his Brother fighting in
Iraq is powerful and touching and delivered in Bryn's delightful sexy manner.

Maverick Sabre - Milly's World 's One to watch London born, Irish raised singer-songwriter Maverick Sabre is breaking the mould with his Guitar playing hip-hop reggae sound and I can only describe him as a little Firework . Beautiful but dangerous
Dynamite and definitely not one to be missed.

Kirstenana - Publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Kirstenana is a quirky singer songwriter  who makes singing in a kitchen with a  guitar looks sexy cool, if there were more girls like Kirstenana in the music industry it would be a wonderful anti manufactured Millys World kinda place.

Along with DJ  Layzee and MC DT the music at 'Milly's World', Proud Camden, will be as breathtaking as it is diverse. Miss this one at your peril!

After the much talked about success of their first showcase, the renowned Proud Galleries host the second Music of the Cloud Showcase on Wednesday the 24th of March in their Main Gallery.  This event is the second of a quarterly Showcase where Music of the Cloud headline and are supported by a range of support acts that are selected by the band to complement and add different experiences to the nights.

Music of the Cloud are a unique band, an artistic project founded by singer songwriter, guitarist, artist and producer Jon Mann-Smith together with drummer Owen Gerrie and bassist Simon Francis.

The Trio create incredible stretching soundscapes and powerful anthemic melodies through to the silent thoughts of the soul. All lines will also feature the two open mic winners from the previous week.

  • Good Natured, Filthy Boy, RapidsThe Playground Presents....19:30PM - 01:30AM

This Playground Records revolutionises the last Monday of every month bringing to Proud a night of promise and potential - showcasing live music from the biggest bands of tomorrow and fusing with art to create an enchanting, frenetic experience not to be easily forgotten. Giving preference to up-and-coming talent

This Playground invites you to check out tomorrow, today.

    To Play:

Rapids: Rapids are an exciting, fresh bunch of five young chaps look set to bring their (erstwhile confined to the south coast) sound to the world. They are currently pushing a great three track EP which blends punchy guitar riffs with well-thought out lyrics to move them far enough away from the Lost Prophets to retain credibility as genuine song-smiths. They put out the sort of music that inspires (embarrassing) air-drumming and conjures a nostalgia for the late teenage years.

Filthy Boy: This four-piece, who may well be Peckham's finest recent export describe their sound, simply, as dark. Grand narratives and a Nick Cave vocal weave through a dirty melee of guitars picked like its the old west and strummed like there's no tomorrow. But they are definitely not country. Blending absurdism with a deft talent for song writing, and with undeniable stage presence,  these guys are definitely ones to watch out for.

The Goodnatured: Highly lauded by almost every music publication, journalist and on-trend DJ alike, The Goodnatured is described as "a warmer, more personal Ladytron", though this hardly does her justice, as aside from the electronic underbelly of her work, rife with soul-jerking, organ-esque tones, their is a depth of emotion and resonance here that carries her appeal much further than her (almost readymade) Skins fanbase. She goes way beyond the Allen/ Nash styled lyricism of chasing the bad, or unattainable boy (and breaking nails/ paparazzi cameras in the process) to convey a much rawer emotion over much heavier, less-processed beats.

  • VINEGAR KNICKERS!Quarterly 319:30PM - 01:30AM

    Quarterly 3 is upon us.

Since it's launch in September 09, Quarterly has blossomed into something far beyond what we had originally set out to do, which while at times can be overwhelming, the results are really do make for a night to remember.

For our latest instalment of Quarterly we have an amazing line up featuring some of the most talented young writers, directors and actors in the country.

Aleksandra Bilic presents her play entitled 'Hero'. In it, a young man is reunited with his childhood hero, and Aleksandra explores the complexities and limits of this relationship set by their time apart.

'New Socks' by Sean Cook is a duologue of sorts between a couple about to embark on a blind date, which ends with an unexpected turn of events.

Also on the night, performing several original sketches, are the acclaimed Vinegar Knickers. Come and see them compete in the London Underground Olympics, find ways of coping with the credit crunchie and speed date their way into finding the perfect partner. Already they've had audiences rolling in the aisles (and laughing) with their sell out performances in London.

As well as all this, we have the mighty Crash Rhino Djs entertaining between acts and after until closing time.

Be sure to get down early enough to pick a good spot in the crowd!

As ever we have a cracking line up of original work to entertain you with...

    'HERO' BY ALEKSANDRA BILIC

Edward has a poignant reunion with his childhood hero. 'it's a little story about our man here, he's a sad sad man but I don't think he every did anything wrong...'

    'NEW SOCKS' BY SEAN COOK

A duologue of sorts between two relative strangers before their first date.

    VINEGAR KNICKERS

Vinegar Knickers are comedy sketch show trio, Siobhan O'hagan, Jen Moon and Harriet Fisher. All their sketches are original and 100% fat free. Come and see them compete in the London Underground Olympics, find ways of coping with the credit crunchie and speed date their way into finding the perfect partner.
