  • Shawbrook PresentsEddy Johns :: The Sofa Explosion :: Set Your Sails :: Accidents Will Happen19:00PM - 11:30AM

    Shawbrook Presents

Squatters Delight has been running successful band nights at the South Gallery Proud Camden since March 2011. At first it was based on just student bands such as Oats(http://www.facebook.com/pages/Oats/126022950748829) and Gardens (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gardens/193512064009457) who were fresh out of sixth form. But now it is showcasing many different genres of music. For example it has had sci fi rock, bluegrass, folk and country and indie bands grace the south Gallery. Don't leave London anytime soon or then you'll miss out on some quality free acts very two weeks. That is a bargain that shouldn't be missed.

    Blagsound Presents...THE SAVAGE NOMADS :: DANNY WATSON :: BLAGSOUND DJs19:30PM - 00:30AM

    On 5th February Britain's fastest-growing music site, BlagSound.com, will
be showcasing two of the UK's fastest-rising stars at Proud Camden.

Add to that, FREE entry and DJs will be spinning indie anthems and
dancefloor fillers all night long... what more could you possibly want on
    a Sunday night?

    --------------------------

    > THE SAVAGE NOMADS
    http://www.facebook.com/thesavagenomads

THE SAVAGE NOMADS are hotly-tipped-for-2012, having released their debut
album 'Coloured Clutter' late last year to rapturous praise across the
board. Boasting more youthful exuberance, hope and naivety than almost
seems bearable, The Savage Nomads have already been hailed as saviours of
contemporary music by many in a position to know.

Mick Jones of The Clash, luminary DJ Don Letts and Gavin Martin at The
Daily Mirror have all vocally offered their support and the band have
garnered supportive reviews in Music Week, The Independent and Mojo as
well as a rapidly-building online buzz. The aforementioned Mick Jones even
had the band play some of their first-ever shows, when they were only mid
way through their teens, at his Carbon Casino events in London. This
fruitful and supportive relationship has continued - seeing the band play
Shepherd's Bush Empire and Scala with Jones.

"This year's best debut album from a British band"
    -ARTROCKER MAGAZINE

"The country's most un-English sounding band, singer Cole channels his
inner David Byrne, but musically they hone everything from At The Drive-In
    to The Libertines"
    -NME

"Intensely tight, incandescent songs with spiritual and political clout.
Think Rage Against The Machine meets Love with Television-like levels of
    musicality"
    -THE DAILY MIRROR

"the first thing that strikes you about The Savage Nomad's new single
'What the Angel Said' is the sheer energetic rawness of it all. Jesus,
    this song packs a punch."
    -BLAGSOUND.COM

    > IC1s
    http://www.facebook.com/IC1sband

Signed to Gary Powell's (Libertines/Dirty Pretty Things) label '25 Hour
Convenience Store', and with their current single 'Karma' recently
reaching in the top 50 in the iTunes alternative chart, you really don't
want to miss IC1s. They were recently selected to headline HMV's 'Next Big
    Thing' in London.

Their stage prowess is hardly surprising really, considering they've
played with acts such as The Cribs, Tinie Tempah, Proud Mary, The
Charlatans, Buzzcocks, Twisted Wheel, Tim Burgess, Calvin Harris and Ocean
Colour Scene. With the backing of the likes of Alan McGee, IC1s are the
    ones to watch.

"If you go see a new band, go and see IC1s. They're brilliant and are
    post-everything."
    - ALAN MCGEE

    "A proper, no-messing-around rock n roll band."
    - NME

"They're a little bit Libertines, a little bit Ramones, but they're
certainly 100% London. 'Whack Jack' must surely serve as a stomping,
unifying crowd-pleaser. The chorus comes out of precisely nowhere and is
the sort of thing the word 'tasty' was invented for."

    Bad SexThe Cullions :: Stowaways :: Mayton DJ's / Fin Munro :: Phaze One19:30PM - 01:30AM

Bad Sex will see a weekly revolving programme playing host to London's most forward thinking promoters. Cutting-edge, controversial and entirely hedonistic, the edgy night will seek to support Camden's best unsigned bands alongside a whole host of Britain's most up and coming lo-fi, chillwave, noise, with house and surf acts.

    The Cullions (live)
The Cullions are a North London band formed in late 2010 by Mike and Antony over a shared love of 60s bands. Later joined by Rich and Bogdan they've been rehearsing, recording and gigging as a 4 piece.
Think The Yardbirds. Think The Doors. Think The Kinks. Influenced by the best of the 60s, they have a sound that is original, yet reminiscent of the bands of that decade.

    http://www.facebook.com/thecullions

    Stowaways (live)
The music of The Stowaways has been compared to many artists but no analogy sums them up better thanthat of the Crunchie bar; they build meltingly soft and beautiful melodies over a rock solid, guitar driven base, and do so with the assurance and confidance of an established confectionary conglomerate.

ANOTHERS BLOOD | THE GOOD NATURED | KARIMA FRANCIS | MIKKY EKKO | SCAMS | THE FORTUNATE | FAKE THE ATTACK

MUSIC WEEK in association with All Night Long Promotions presents... BREAKOUT Music industry bible Music Week is backing this new monthly night (every second Wednesday in the month) which will showcase music from the newly signed, current A&R buzz or most interesting acts likely to emerge in the next 12 months - tomorrow's stars today.

A club night where you are guaranteed to rub shoulders with industry and media, and catch something very special indeed. Proud's ALL NIGHT LONG DJ's dropping 4 decades of classic floor fillers to see you through until 1.30am.

This month our friends at LIVE CONNECTION will be curating the main stable showcasing some of the best acts they have been working with recently. www.live-connection.co.uk

    LINE UP

    MAIN STAGE

    ANOTHERS BLOOD
Having recently had a track made AOL Spinner Track of the Day, support from specialist UK and US radio, remixing Lana Del Ray's Born To Die' and a cover of New Order's 'Lonesome Tonight' being placed on Mojo's current covermount issue, London's Anothers Blood's sounds of 'glorious pop isolation' are already picking up interest from both sides of the Atlantic.
    http://www.anothersblood.com/

    THE GOOD NATURED
The English electropop band, consisting of Sarah McIntosh on vocals and keyboards, her brother Hamish McIntosh on bass and friend George Hinton on drums have been compared to La Roux and Ladytron. Following signing to Parlophone and releasing their Skeleton EP the trio are set to bring their "dark electronic pop with heart" to February's Breakout event on Wednesday 15th
    http://www.thegoodnatured.co.uk/

    KARIMA FRANCIS
Very recently signed to Vertigo Records, literally moments before walking out on stage supporting Smith and Burrows at a sold out Union Chapel, Karima is currently putting the finishing touches to her Flood produced second album which is pencilled for release summer 2012.
    http://karimafrancis.com/

    MIKKY EKKO
From Tennessee via Nashville Mikky Ekko will be playing his first UK show. Mikky has spent the past year writing with the likes of Fraser T. Smith, Justin Parker and Jim Eliot and is surfing a wave of label and publishing interest on both sides of the Atlantic. Said Rolling Stone: "Intoxicating vocals meld layers of sonic dreamscapes, creating moody and ethereal visions with blasts of exquisite post-pop, all released under the undeniable personification of Mikky Ekko."
    http://mikkyekko.com/

ACOUSTIC STABLE (Curated by Live Connection)

    SCAMS
Scams are rapidly establishing a reputation as the genuine purveyors of a unique sound from early soul to modern dance.
    www.wearescams.com

    THE FORTUNATE
With infectious twists of pop and Paramore-esque punk and subtle eighties edge, The Fortunate seemlessly bridge the gap between indie-pop and punk-pop.
    www.thefortunate.co.uk

    FAKE THE ATTACK
The five-piece pop/rock-ers from Hampshire, South England are spreading the word with their brand new 6-track EP.

Let Friday night party animals Tales of the Unexpected lure you in to their dark Forbidden Forest where a wild crew of woodland creatures, amorous nymphs, fierce centaurs and snake charmers all seek to hoodwink revellers astray. RIDE and Burlesque in Your Kitchen!Ella Chi (live), Filthy Few & Friends, Kashli, Broken Jam 19:30PM - 02:30AM

Notorious Saturday's at Proud Camden Host Ride as thrilling New Club Night.
A sexy, equestrian vibe full of breathtaking surprises and twists in which you can expect a hotspot for all of London's music lovers. Including unique live performances, fetish, burlesque, stilt walkers, angle grinders and acrobatics alongside a residency from Filthy Few and celebrity-filled guest DJ's, you will never fail to be entertained.

    Ella Chi (live)
Ella would always pick out the soulful albums in record collections and, without really knowing who she was listening to, gravitated towards Stevie Wonder, D' Angelo, and Jill Scott. As a young adult her love for old favourites was fused with the sounds of drum n bass, neo soul, and later dubstep. Like a cultural sponge she absorbed all of these styles and wrung them out to create her own sound and her debut album, self titled 'ELLA CHI'.
